Fusion · Synergy · Resonance: UTSB-СʪÃÃÊÓƵ Academic Exchange on Joint Degree Show


On the afternoon of 11 June 2024, in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Confucius Institute at СʪÃÃÊÓƵ, University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) and СʪÃÃÊÓƵ (СʪÃÃÊÓƵ) jointly hosted an exceptional academic exchange conference focused on a Joint Degree Show. The purpose of this meeting was to inaugurate the exhibition and to further deepen the academic exchange and cooperation between the two universities.

The conference was held at the Confucius Institute at СʪÃÃÊÓƵ, with Director Gu Wei as the keynote speaker. USTB Faculty& Student Delegation and some of the program leaders of the Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities (ADH) attended the meeting. Acting as the bridge for academic exchange between the two universities, Director Gu first warmly welcomed the attending guests and students. She then provided a detailed introduction to the captivating works of the Joint Degree Show from both universities through videos and images. Following this, Associate Professor Wang Xuejiao from the School of Mechanical Engineering (SME) at USTB provided further elaboration on SME and related disciplines of Industrial Design and Visual Communication. Mary O'Neill, Associate Head (Education) of School of Art Design and Architecture at СʪÃÃÊÓƵ, and Mark Kasumovic, senior lecturer in Photography and Video at ADH, also shared their insights, expressing high praise for the showcased works. Notably, Ms. Mary O'Neill also extended invitations to Associate Professor Wang Xuejiao and three USTB students to tour the Faculty of ADH at СʪÃÃÊÓƵ.

The successful hosting of this academic exchange conference not only strengthens the exchange and cooperation between USTB and СʪÃÃÊÓƵ but also fosters a deeper exploration of the fields of art and design among students. It also broadens their artistic horizons and lays a solid foundation for future collaborations between the two universities.
